The Director General of Education in Erbil announced that girls in the 5/6 class who continue their education to grade 9 can then undertake a special program to train as teachers for illiterate children. The girls, pictured above in an English language lesson agreed that they will doe well in the final examinations due to this initiative. “This is a very good idea,” said sixteen-year-old Juan Bahram, “because we are even more motivated to succeed in school. There are many reasons we like this school and are thankful for this opportunity in our lives.”
