Please tell us about your area(s) of expertise.
After 25 years in the electric utility industry (both public and private) in Texas, I was asked to go to Egypt to assist with the organizational redesign of the Egyptian Electricity Authority, as my U.S. work had been most recently in organizational development and process re-engineering. This led to an opportunity to become the Chief of Party of the Management Development Initiative in Egypt and also on a follow-on program called Partners for a Competitive Egypt. These two projects began to “aim” my international work toward private sector management and workforce development, with a hint of “trade” thrown in.
Do you have a favorite, unique or fascinating country where you have worked?
Armenia. Though only there for about a year, its people, culture and history are a fascinating set of tenacious subjects to try to understand.
What do you appreciate most about Creative’s approach to project implementation?
Having consistent support from the Proposal Development team during the program design phase makes Creative’s programs even stronger once they’re being implemented. It’s not every organization that has such a strong proposal team.
Favorite hobby (or hobbies)?
I have been associated with barbershop quartet music for a number of years and hold two chorus gold medals in international competition with the Vocal Majority from Dallas, Texas.
