Claudia Salazar Suárez

Senior Technical Manager, LAC Specialist, Education for Development Division 



Publications_thumbnail_CS-150x150 Claudia joined Creative’s Education for Development Division as Senior Technical Manager, Latin America and Caribbean Specialist in 2022. As part of the technical team, she works at the intersection of technical, business development and strategic work focused on expanding Creative’s reach in the LAC region.

Claudia has more than 15 years working in international development, including at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Organization of American States (OAS), and has a deep understanding of the region and an extensive professional network. She has worked across the LAC region, facilitating substantive policy dialogue and cooperation, and providing technical support in the design, implementation and management of development projects. 

During her time at the OAS, Claudia was involved in the preparation, negotiation, follow-up and implementation of the Summits of the Americas process, and of ministerial meetings and mandates that drive the LAC regional cooperation agenda on development. 

At the IDB, Claudia was part of the multidisciplinary team behind the design and approval of the IDB Broadband Special Program, a strategy to promote the access, adoption and usage of broadband Internet in LAC, which remains active and gained new relevance during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Claudia has experience also with strategic communications and enjoys liaising with policymakers, the private sector, and other stakeholders and partners, ensuring buy-in and support for collaborative initiatives. 

Claudia has an Executive MBA from the Instituto de Empresa Business School in Spain​, a certificate in International Studies from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Washington, D.C., and a bachelor’s in Economy and International Business from Universidad ICESI in her native Cali, Colombia.​ ​She is a native Spanish speaker and is fluent in English.
