Senior Associate, Gender in Development
GETTING TO KNOW JACKIE
Beyond your job title, please explain your role at Creative.
I provide strategic direction on gender in development approach, advise on gender integration in new business and proposal development, and provide technical support to ongoing programs. I lead thought leadership and knowledge management on gender transformative and female empowerment approaches and theories of change, and support the documentation of ongoing gender-focused interventions.
Do you have an accomplishment or programmatic result or activity that you are particularly proud of?
I often create a mental picture of all the women and men, boys and girls that I have the privilege to serve through my work in international development. For about two decades, my work has taken me to over 35 countries around the world, working with multi-sector partners including USAID, DFID, United Nations agencies, civil society organizations, corporations and foundations. There is no greater accomplishment than touching the lives of real people, and facilitating them to lead their own positive transformation. It is very rewarding but also very sobering. We need to measure our success by looking at the people we serve and ask, “Have their lives changed for the better?”
What is it that drew you to the company?
Creative’s mission to support people around the world to realize the positive change they seek resonates very much with my personal values and professional goals. I am proud to contribute to the realization of this mission.
