GETTING TO KNOW R. DRAKE
Drake Warrick is a Senior Associate in the Education in Conflict practice area. In this role, he is the Project Director for the Pakistan Reading Project, where he supports business development and thought leadership related to systems strengthening and capacity development, in crisis countries particularly in Africa.
Beyond your job title, please explain your role at Creative (no more than 150 words).
In my role, I provide technical leadership and managerial support to projects in conflict, post-conflict and stabilization settings, as well as technical leadership and management of project proposals. I represent the Education in Conflict practice area before clients and critical audiences. I also help identify and analyze opportunities for new business. When it is required, I serve as Acting Chief of Party. As a Project Director, work with the Chief of Party and in-country staff to ensure that assigned projects are achieving all contract deliverables. I also provide short-term technical assistance to projects to support project activities and represent corporate objectives.
Do you have a favorite, unique or fascinating story about your work in development?
In implementing large-scale education projects throughout the world, I am most gratified from the impact and influence I have had on individuals that I have worked with. It is amazing to see how there is a trickledown effect of good work through colleagues, to government decision makers, to teachers and ultimately to learners.

Since 2001, successful management and implementation of several projects as Chief of Party, as well as M&E roles. More than 17 years of experience in long-term positions in sub-Saharan Africa, including Nigeria, Niger, Zambia, Kenya and Mozambique, with 12 of the 17 years spent implementing education projects. Experience working in challenging political climates and has worked in several conflict-affected countries such as Pakistan.
