WASHINGTON, D.C. — Creative Associates International, a leading implementer of international development projects worldwide, welcomes Joe Kale as its new Compliance Director.

Kale will oversee compliance efforts at headquarters and projects in more than 25 countries, ensuring that company conduct continues to exceed Creative’s high internal and client standards.

Working as an adviser to executives and program leadership, Kale will develop, implement and review policies and procedures that ensure Creative is up to date and in line with the latest regulations on trade, procurement, program management, agreements and more.

In this role, he will work closely with Laurence Grayer, Creative’s General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer.

Creative President and CEO Leland Kruvant says Kale is a valuable addition to the organization.

“Creative’s commitment to clients, partners and the people we support requires our full attention to make sure our work is done properly,” Kruvant says. “We look forward to having Joe’s leadership to help us continue to meet these high ethics and compliance standards.”

Kale most recently served as a Senior Consultant and Adviser at LRN Corp. in New York, working with high-profile corporate clients on ethics and regulatory compliance.

He previously helped major companies, including as Senior Vice President and Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer at DynCorp International and Director of Ethics Program Operations at Lockheed Martin, build up their ethics and compliance procedures, address ethical concerns, train thousands of employees and encourage a positive company culture.

Kale, whose experience spans Fortune 500 companies as well as entrepreneurial, privately owned firms, says he looks forward to bringing this experience and skill to his work at Creative to better serve communities in need around the world.

“I am excited to build upon the great foundation and legacy of Creative in creating a top-tier ethics and compliance program,” says Kale. “The mission, vision and core set of values that have guided the company for 40 years resonate with me both personally and professionally and I look forward to working with the many talented and dedicated professionals in the company.”

Kale is a graduate of St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, Pa. He volunteers as a member of the Board of Directors for ERASE Child Trafficking.
