USAID Awards Creative Afghanistan Workforce Development Program
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Creative Associates International is proud to announce that its Education for Development Division was awarded the USAID-funded Afghanistan Workforce Development Program (AWDP). Drawing on a decade of work in Afghanistan, Creative will tap into its already established relations with ministries, NGOs, private sector, and other donors to reach 25,000 Afghans, a quarter of them women, with skills and support to help them find meaningful jobs by AWDP’s completion in April 2016.
A major focus on AWDP’s approach is engagement with the private sector both as potential employers and trainers. AWDP will strengthen the systems for sustainable workforce development activities in the future by helping to establish a business education task force that will engage Afghans in the planning and implementation of workforce education and training systems. The task force will act as advisors and leaders to help identify critical business competencies and design new business education national standards, curriculum and systems.
