“Charito was chosen because she heads a large successful corporation that helps women’s rights and education,” said Louisa Meruvia, CEO of the Networking for the Arts Foundation, whose organization promotes cultural understanding through the arts and selected the recipients. “Our aim is to create mentors for the Bolivian and minority youth.”

In addition to Kruvant, one other prominent Bolivian American, Marcelo Claure, CEO of Sprint, was recognized by the Foundation.

U.S. Senator Mark Warner (D-VA) extended his congratulations to Kruvant, telling her: “Your commitment to the common good has made a lasting impact on the community.”

Senator Warner hailed Charito as a role model who inspires success and creates hope. “You have created such hope through your work as the founder, president and chief executive officer of Creative Associates International.”

Reflecting on her life journey, Charito said that “I was born in a place and a time when women didn’t have many options or opportunities. But I knew early on that education was the key to unlocking a better, brighter future. And I have applied that belief to my work, helping others realize their potential.”

Networking for the Arts Foundation’s Meruvia said Charito’s achievements “have changed lives.”

The awards were presented by the Networking for the Arts Foundation during a “Taste of Bolivia” event in Washington, D.C, in conjunction with Bolivia’s Independence Day.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/12″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/4″][vc_widget_sidebar sidebar_id=”sidebar-primary”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
