Creative Associates International, Inc. and Lockheed Martin are pleased to present the “Symposium on Stability Operations and Development in a New Era: Making the Whole of Government Approach Work”. The Symposium has been organized to shed light on practical issues relevant to improving civil-military cooperation in planning for and implementing a combined approach that brings development efforts to bear in support of stability operations.

Two guest speakers have agreed to help frame the discussion. Admiral James G. Stavridis, the current commander of the U.S. Southern Command, brings a unique practical perspective on approaches to inter-agency integration. Ambassador John Herbst, will speak as the Secretary of State’s Coordinator for Reconstruction and Stabilization, offering the perspective of the U.S. government’s premier entity charged with this responsibility.

Panels will examine policy priorities, best practices, and lessons learned to help explore the question of how development and stability operations can best be pursued to achieve sustained progress. Panels will include senior staff to Members of the Senate and House, as well as experienced practitioners and policy specialists.
