Global Advisory Board

 

Creative’s Global Advisory Board is comprised of experts with deep experience as educators, diplomats, military leaders and elected officials. Chaired by President and CEO Leland Kruvant, it is a non-governing body that provides advice to the company’s Executive Committee and the Board of Directors. They play an important role in providing their special experience and insight into today’s development landscape and future trends.

GLORIA STEELE

Gloria Steele served for more than 40 years at the U.S. Agency for International Development and rose to become the Acting Administrator in 2021. She served as the Senior Deputy Administrator of three different bureaus as well as the Mission Director in the Philippines.

 

Former Administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development Andrew Natsios led the agency from 2001 to 2006. He was also named Special Envoy to Sudan and CEO of Boston’s Big Dig. Natsios is currently the Director of the Scowcroft Institute of International Affairs at Texas A&M University.

Professor Fernando Reimers is the Ford Foundation Professor of Practice in International Education and the Director of the Global Education Initiative at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education. Reimers is a continuing member of Creative’s Global Advisory Board.

Retired General David M. Rodriguez served as the Commander of the U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), Commander of International Security Assistance Force Joint Command and Deputy Commander of U.S. Forces – Afghanistan. He retired from the U.S. Army in 2016 and today is a consultant.

Sarah Sewall is the Speyer Family Foundation Distinguished Scholar at the Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies. She served as Under Secretary of State for Civilian Security, Democracy and Human Rights from 2014 to 2017 and was the first Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Peacekeeping during the Clinton Administration. She has taught at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, directed the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy and held the Minerva Chair at the U.S. Naval War College.

Former U.S. Ambassador M. Osman Siddique represented the United States in diplomatic posts, as well as being appointed by the U.S. Secretary of State as a Board Member of the East West Center. Siddique is a private sector entrepreneur and executive, founding International Travel Technologies, ITT/Travelogue and CorpNet International. Siddique is a continuing member of Creative’s Global Advisory Board.

Former two-term Mayor Anthony Williams led the resurgence of the nation’s capital. Today, former Mayor Williams is the CEO of the non-profit Federal City Council and a Board Member of the Bipartisan Policy Center. Earlier this year, he traveled to South Africa to lead discussions on best practices in city management and urban revitalization.


TOM WHEELOCK

Tom Wheelock has more than 35 years of general management experience in international stabilization and development programs, particularly in conflict settings. Tom worked at Creative for 12 years as the leader of the Communities in Transition Division.
