Position Summary:
Creative seeks a Project Director for an anticipated USG-funded anti-trafficking program in El Salvador. The Project Director will provide overall technical, management, and administrative oversight for the program. This role will serve as the primary point of contact for and will lead engagement with the USG, Government of El Salvador, and national counterparts across the justice sector and civil society.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide overall strategic leadership and direction for the program in El Salvador.
- Lead project implementation and oversee achievement of program objectives, targets, and deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with USG regulations, financial controls, and reporting obligations.
- Serve as the primary liaison with DOS, Government of El Salvador counterparts, private sector partners, and other key stakeholders.
- Oversee monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning systems and promote data-driven decision-making.
- Recruit, supervise, mentor, and support a multidisciplinary project team.
- Monitor operational and security risks and support mitigation planning.
- Lead development of annual work plans, implementation plans, and budgets, and ensure timely submission of high-quality technical and financial reports to the donor
- Oversee subawards to local implementing partners
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in International Development, Human Rights, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience managing large donor-funded international development programs.
- Minimum 5 years of senior leadership experience as Chief of Party, Deputy Chief of Party, Program Director, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience managing USG-funded programs with demonstrated technical expertise in anti-trafficking programming.
- Demonstrated experience working with government counterparts, donors, local organizations, and consortium partners.
- Strong financial, operational, compliance, and risk management experience.
- Professional fluency in Spanish and English required.
- Experience working in El Salvador
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience living and working in El Salvador; experience elsewhere in Central America will also be considered.
- Established working relationships with Salvadoran justice-sector institutions or equivalent experience.
- Prior experience managing counter-trafficking awards, including J/TIP-funded programs.
