GETTING TO KNOW GUILLERMO
Beyond your job title, please explain your role at Creative.
My role at Creative entails contributing frameworks in countries where Creative already implements crime and violence prevention programs. In addition, I contribute to the development of the already solid reputation of Creative as a thought leader in the field.
Do you have a favorite, unique or fascinating story about your work in development?
I am particularly fascinated by the potential development of a transnational violence reduction framework. It should intervene in a coordinated fashion at an individual, peer, and family community level while also at a domestic and international level.
What is it that drew you to the company?
I collaborated with multiple private companies and NGO’s that were implementing violence reduction strategies in Central America during the last two years of my tenure as Deputy Mayor of Los Angeles. I found Creative to have a strong implementation team on the ground, and when I chose to move into the field of international work, I wanted to join a team with a strong emphasis on implementation.
