Creative’s Chair shares Creative’s story with Devex

As part of Devex’s She Builds campaign, Charito Kruvant shares the history of Creative Associates International – its humble beginnings in Charito’s basement where four women dedicated themselves to making the world a better place, and struggled to make it in a male-dominated industry.

Charito Kruvant, Chair of Creative Associates International, joins Devex’s She Builds campaign to talk about the important role women play in communities in transition. Identifying and working through female leaders – formal and informal – in conflict-affected communities has allowed Creative to better realize a community’s needs, and provide the necessary services.

Charito Kruvant sits down with Devex’s Michael Igoe as part of their She Builds campaign to discuss the state of the development industry and its female leadership. To Charito, it’s no longer just about female-male diversity, it’s now a larger conversation. And without being honest about that conversation – and the full gender equation – it’s hard to give to others.
