CREATIVE’S PAST PROJECTS

40+ years of promoting positive change

Creative has implemented hundreds of projects around the globe since it was founded in 1977. From education and elections to governance and economic growth, Creative’s efforts have made a difference. For example, since the year 2000, Creative has trained more than 389,000 teachers in 21 countries—providing them with new skills and techniques that ultimately benefit their students.

Peace Building in Eastern Congo

Date: June 2003

The State Department provided funding to Creative to evaluate the opportunities for peace building in the Eastern Congo. The proof of concept mission looked specifically at whether direct talks between belligerents were feasible and offered the possibility of reducing the violence in North Kivu, South Kivu and Maneima provinces, as well as actions to support the results of any negotiations. The report concluded that timing was propitious to support peace building in the region....

 

 

Portugal/Adult Educators Training

Date: September 1981 – January 1982

Creative assisted the newly formed Adult Education Department of Portugal's Ministry of Education to strengthen its program planning capability as well as its use of innovative techniques, and also assisted USAID/Portugal in determining priority areas for program inputs. Creative helped expand capabilities related to the use of quantitative and qualitative data for education planning and the development of adult education projects employing competency-based education and criterion reference evaluation techniques....

 

 

Rwanda/Education Reform Project

Date: September 1982 – September 1986

Through a four-year contract with USAID/Kigali, Creative provided technical assistance to Rwanda in its efforts to undertake major educational reform in agricultural policy. The team assisted with the development of agricultural education policy and its integration into current educational programming in the country. In addition, Creative provided short-term consultants in the areas of agricultural education, agricultural extension education and teacher training for agricultural education....

 

 

Senegal/Jeune Filles et Femmes Orientées à Gérer l`avenir du Sénégal (JOG)

Date: December 2000 – August 2003

Girls in Senegal are less likely to attend school than boys, and more likely to drop out. Creative worked to address this problem through USAID's Jeune Filles et Femmes Orientées à Gérer l`avenir du Sénégal project. It enabled communities, families and girls in 34 locations to play a part in managing Senegal's progress. Activities focused on reinforcing the capacities of the national education system and communities to accommodate the needs of girls while building local capacity to manage school improvements. ...

 

 

SHRM Web and Intranet

Date: November 1999 – December 1999

Creative provided a process for design and implementation of a database-driven website and intranet. Included was a document consisting of technical specifications and implementation notes, appropriate for use by SHRM technical staff or contractors to design, develop and implement a database-driven platform supporting the SHRM intranet, extranet and public website....
