Nigeria’s Demobilization, Disassociation, Reintegration and Reconciliation (DDRR)

This report uncovers what it takes to disengage from violent extremism by offering fresh insights into pathways to engage and reintegrate members and affiliates from armed groups, including violent extremist organizations, during active conflict. Funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Office of Transition Initiatives, it details Nigeria’s Demobilization, Disassociation, Reintegration and Reconciliation (DDRR) and provides new insights and knowledge to better understand policy relevant trends like risks of recidivism, what are effective predictors of support of violence, and how do community members actually view reintegratees compared to how they think they are perceived. It was conducted from July 2020 to March 2021. For the USIP event, related to this publication, please visit: https://www.usip.org/events/leaving-boko-haram-behind...
