CREATIVE’S PAST PROJECTS

40+ years of promoting positive change

Creative has implemented hundreds of projects around the globe since it was founded in 1977. From education and elections to governance and economic growth, Creative’s efforts have made a difference. For example, since the year 2000, Creative has trained more than 389,000 teachers in 21 countries—providing them with new skills and techniques that ultimately benefit their students.

Jordan Rural Community Clusters Development Program

Date: July 2002 – December 2003

Working with Jordan's Ministry of Planning, Creative implemented the Rural Community Clusters Development Program which helped citizens meet self-defined community needs while promoting social stability and integration. The program used Creative's BRIDGES approach of forging ties between citizens, helping them resolve infrastructural, economic and environmental needs identified by their communities. Over the life of the program, Creative helped bring peace and prosperity to more than 140,000 people in 64 municipal communities....

 

 

Lebanon Participation for Economic and Community Development (PEACE)

The Lebanon Participation for Economic and Community Development project assisted citizens in revitalizing transitional communities, helping them meet self-defined infrastructural, economic and environmental needs while promoting social stability and integration. PEACE strengthened grass-roots organizations and used community participation as a vehicle in mobilizing residents, underscoring the integration of women into decision-making processes and income-generating activities. It helped Lebanese communities build lasting peace by encouraging transparent, democratic participation at all levels of society....

 

 

Sri Lanka/Accelerated Skills Acquisition Program (ASAP)

Date: November 2006 – March 2009

Creative implemented the Accelerated Skills Acquisition Program, a task order of USAID’s Assistance to Basic Education/Basic Education IQC, to build a favorable employment climate for over-age and out-of-school youth in conflict-affected regions. In partnership with the Christian Children’s Fund and the International Youth Foundation, Creative strengthened the capacity of training institutions to deliver quality job counseling, career guidance, placement assistance and school-to-work services to improve employment possibilities and demand-driven skills for 7,075 ASAP participants (ages 15-25). Course work focused on job search strategies and building employability through English language skills and computer literacy. The project team secured 30 private and public sector organizations as training partners, and 107 companies provided placement assistance through apprenticeships or employment to graduates....
