40+ years of promoting positive change

Creative has implemented hundreds of projects around the globe since it was founded in 1977. From education and elections to governance and economic growth, Creative’s efforts have made a difference. For example, since the year 2000, Creative has trained more than 389,000 teachers in 21 countries—providing them with new skills and techniques that ultimately benefit their students.

Haiti Support to Community Radio & HIV/AIDS Prevention

Date: October 2006 – May 2007

Haiti made important strides in its efforts to provide its citizens with good governance and basic services, but continued to battle extreme poverty, weak institutions and serious economic and health problems. USAID/Haiti continued to use radio to educate the public about HIV/AIDS as well as encourage Haitians to use available health services. Liberia Transition Initiative

Date: February 2004 – November 2006

Creative managed USAID’s Liberia Transition Initiative which addressed critical bottlenecks in the peace process and supported civil society's participation through small grants, community reintegration for war-affected youth and accelerated learning for overage children. The initiative provided more than $7.8 million in grants for a variety of activities that helped NGOs and government ministries resume operations, revitalize communities and raise public awareness of issues tied to Liberia’s transition....

 

 

Nigeria/Community Participation for Action in the Social Sectors (COMPASS)

Date: June 2004 – August 2009

In partnership with the Nigerian government, USAID launched the Community Participation for Action in the Social Sectors which combined the expertise of five American and four Nigerian partner organizations to engage local communities in building high quality, integrated health and education services. Sudan/South Sudan – Health Education and Reconciliation Project

Date: October 2006 – September 2013

The Health, Education and Reconciliation Sudan project, funded by USAID, operated in the most neglected and least developed parts of Sudan. Teachers were trained in basic education knowledge, child-centered teaching skills, health and hygiene, conflict resolution and service-learning. The project trained community health workers to visit schools with an integrated package of health services. Uganda – Initiative for TDMS and PIASCY (UNITY)

Date: November 2006 – January 2012

The USAID-funded Ugandan Initiative for Teacher Development and Management System and the Presidential Initiative on AIDS Strategy for Communication to Youth, or UNITY, support efforts to improve education and expand implementation of the Presidential Initiative on AIDS Strategy for Communication to Youth.
